SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Police say they have arrested two men in connection with a series of brutal beatings involving at least two victims who were transients living in northwest Oregon.
The Statesman Journal reports Salem police arrested 33-year-old Joseph Michael Sizemore and 23-year-old Brady Canaga last week on charges of attempted murder, assault, robbery and coercion.
According to court documents, police say Sizemore used a crowbar to attack a man in November.
Police say Sizemore and Canaga tried to beat a man to death with a bat on March 19.
Police say they beat, stabbed and robbed a 40-year-old transient man two days later.
A Marion County judge ordered both men to be held without bail Thursday. It wasn’t immediately clear if they have attorneys.
