Woman arrested on suspicion of killing husband as he slept

AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her husband who was fatally shot in 2016 while he slept at home in Auburn.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was arrested Tuesday and booked into King County Jail for investigation of murder.

Her name was not released.

The sheriff’s office says the woman had said Tom Ianniciello was killed in a burglary, but nothing of value was taken from the home.

The sheriff’s office says detectives later learned the woman had been having an affair and emails between the woman and boyfriend before the homicide showed she hated Ianniciello and was planning to leave him.

The sheriff’s office says the woman apparently shot Ianniciello while their two children were waiting in the car in the driveway, left with them and then returned to the home and called 911.
