Eres Salon presents a fundraiser for CASA – Court-Appointed Special Advocates for children. From 11 am to 5 pm Friday 100 percent of all proceeds from haircuts, waxes, express manicures and polish goes to Columbia Gorge CASA

Robots are everywhere in our lives, from the complex Mars Rover to the simple Bristlebot. Teens are invited to build their own Bristlebot today from 4 to 5:30 pm. at The Dalles Library Race them, battle them, and turn them into insects!

Goldendale Equestrian Team Monterrey taco dinner and silent auction fundraiser tonight 5 to 7:30 at the American Legion in Goldendale . Tickets $8 each

Dinner and Auction Fundraiser for the Mid-Columbia Senior Center tonight sponsored by The Springs at Mill Creek, Schultens Ford and Cousins Restaurant who will be serving a delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu Dinner. $35 per person. Doors open at 5:00, Dinner at 5:30 and Auction at 6:30. Some of the auction items are: one-night stay dinner for two at Wildhorse Resort and Casino, 4 Trailblazer Tickets, lunch and 18 holes of golf for two at the Chinook Winds Golf Resort, and a one-night stay at McMenamins Edgefield. Free hazardous waste collection event in The Dalles Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm at 1317 West 1st Street  for to residents and businesses of Hood River, Wasco and Sherman counties. We accept paints and stains, yard and garden products, household cleaners and chemicals, automotive fluids, old gas and kerosene, pool and spa chemicals, hobby solvents and glues, propane bottles and tanks, all batteries, ballasts, fluorescent bulbs and CFL bulbs, thermostats and thermometers, and fire extinguishers.

We now accept E-Waste (computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, laptops/tablets, printers & televisions), cell phones and unwanted medicines.

The History Forum series at the Original Wasco County Courthouse continues Saturday at 1:30. This week’s program The Town Above Celilo Falls: Launching Site for the Upper River, presented by local historian John Brookhouse who has family connections to the long-ago town that served as entry point to the upper Columbia River above Celilo Falls. Admission is free with donations gladly accepted! – Downstairs monitor for those unable to climb stairs. Coffee and cookies will be served after the program. The Original Wasco County Courthouse is located at 410 West 2nd Place, behind the Chamber of Commerce / Visitors’ Center.

As part of celebrating National Engineers Week the Gorge STEM hub (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) will be conducting “Introduce a Girl to Engineering” at The Dalles Library Saturday at 2:30. Female engineers will share about their careers and then lead groups of students through an escape room engineering challenge. Students in grades 5-8 of all gender identities are encouraged to attend and no registration is necessary.

Two editions of the seventh annual father-daughter dance Saturday 3:30 and 6:30 at the Hood River Elks. Tiickets now available at Trellis fresh flowers & gifts, Tammys Floral and Shortt Supply!

Sword fights, pirates, true love, and rodents of unusual size are just some of the things that movie watchers can play along with in an interactive showing of The Princess Bride Saturday after noon at 4 pm at the Hood River library. Props and snacks will be provided. For Teens ages 11 to 19.

GRD All Stars will skate against Chaos Theory Pickup Rollers at 5 pm at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center and GRD Blood N Gorge will skate against Air Raid Roller Derby at 7 p.m.

Café de la Musique – an evening of magnificent music and decadent desserts Saturday 6 to 8:30 at Henkle Middle School in White Salmon is a benefit for enrichment activities for band and choir students tickets $9 adults, $5 kids up to 12 raffle ticket s$5 or 6 for $20P

Saturday night bingo at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W 9th Street, The Dalles, on Feb.23. Over $1200 will be paid out during the night, with an additional $1000 payout for a blackout in 58 numbers or less on the final game. Minimum buy-in is $10.00. Doors open at 4pm. And bingo starts at 6 pm. All ages are welcome, though those 12years-18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. New players encouraged to arrive by 5:30.
