11 am this morning Wonderworks Children’s Museum in The Dalles will have a event where children will build a bald eagle paper bag puppet. This is free to museum members and $5 to others in honor of national bald eagle month

Hood River Valley High School Nordic Ski Club fundraiser 6 to 10 pm at Kickstand Coffee and Kitchen in Hood River. There will be a raffle, silent auction and bake sale, and Kickstand is donation 10 percent of the profits from the evening to the ski club


It’s the 9th Annual Eagle Watch 9 am to 3 pm at The Dalles Lock & Dam Visitor Center located off I-84 at exit 87, east on Brett Clodfelter Way. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own binoculars and cameras. In case of inclement weather, the event may be rescheduled.

MLK shakeout fun run starting Saturday at 9:30am at Shortt Supply in Hood River for a three mile jog, all ages and paces welcome.

Free Saturday movie at Columbia Cinemas in The Dalles. This week PG-rated Ferdinand. Doors open 9:15am, movie starts at 10am. Doors close 10:10 am or after first 400 admitted. Youththink will be collecting canned food donations.

Third Annual Gorge Women’s March, a group of community members supporting and focusing on women’s rights, children’s rights and immigrant rights at Thompson Park next to the swimming pool in The Dalles. Event starts at 11 am community fair with information booths on voting, community resources for immigration, women’s health, activities, family safety, music, healing spaces and much more available before the march begins at 1 pm.

Sherman County Athletic Foundation Crab and Oyster Feed returns Saturday 3 to 8 pm at Morrow County Grain Growers in Wasco – Fresh from the Pacific Coast, all the oysters, crab and shrimp you can eat $36, and you can buy 10 tickets for $330. The Sherman County Scholarship Associations will be selling desserts during the feed. Tickets available at Morrow County Grain Growers and the Lean-To Cafe in Wasco, Husky’s 97 Market in Moro, Dinty’s Market West in The Dalles, Maupin Hardware in Maupin and MCP Goldendale Farm and Home..

The first local brewery to open in The Dalles in a century Freebridge Brewing celebrates their 3rd Anniversary Party Saturday starting at 6 pm. New beer release raffles and live DJ from 7 to 10 pm.
