A wildfire broke out in the Biggs Juntion area around 2:30 this afternoon.
At 2:33 pm the Sherman County Sheriffs Office posted to their Facebook page: Fast-moving fire in Biggs. Please avoid the area. The fire is on the south west side of Highway 97 blowing east and south.
At 4:32 pm they updated their post to read: There is a fire in Biggs Junction and it is headed east. Highway 97 is closed to all Northbound traffic at milepost 9. Highway 206 is still open. There are no evacuations at this time.
Fire Crews from around the area are responding.
