Investigation under way after Portland police shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after an officer-involved shooting in downtown Portland early Sunday morning.

Portland Police have not released the name of those involved, but say officers were patrolling when they heard shots being fired and engaged with a suspect. No officers were injured but the person who was shot was taken to a local hospital.

That person’s condition was not released.

Portland Police Detectives and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office are investigating. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
