OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have evacuated a state building in Olympia after someone called saying a bomb was inside.
Washington State Patrol Sgt. Darren Wright says authorities evacuated the Highway Licensing Building Wednesday afternoon.
Wright says an unknown person made a call to the building saying an explosive device had been placed there.
The Olympian reports the threat was made to the Attorney General’s Office, according to Department of Licensing spokeswoman Gigi Zenk. The two agencies are located in the Highway Licensing Building.
Troopers were investigating who made the call. Wright says the person hung up the phone when a receptionist tried to get more information.
Authorities said later Wednesday that the state patrol bomb squad did a sweep of the building with police dogs and found no bomb or suspicious device.
