The 23nd annual CRUISE THE GORGE weekend starts Friday night with the NEON CRUISE downtown starting at 6:30pm. Registered cars only for the first two hours, followed by open cruising at 8:30. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the cool cars, music, food and drink at several downtown locations. Don’t forget to check out the NEON MUSEUM, with free grand opening tours all evening.

Rib Kickin’ Boot Stompin’ Event on the corner of 2nd & Washington. fun night of food, adult beverages, and live music while classic cars cruise the streets for Neon Nights! Food: A delicious rib dinner! Hamburger or hot dog meals will also be an option! Third annual Vintage Dufur Days on Main Street in the historic town of Dufur, located just 15 minutes south of The Dalles off highway 197. This year’s Vintage Dufur Days will have live music, museum displays, a main Street parade, food court, field operations (vintage tractors, implements, binders, sack sewing, etc), a vintage tractor pull and much more. Admission is free

Saturday brings the SHOW IN THE SHADE at Sorosis Park, featuring over 300 cool cars, trucks and motorcycles, plus food, music, vendors raffles and games. Free to the public. Awards at 3pm.

Saturday evening features the EAGLES car show, dinner, music (Live Wire) and dance at the lodge.

Led Zeppelin tribute band No Quarter returns to Oregon for one night only doing their internationally acclaimed tribute to that British Super Group. They’ll be at the Granada Theater Saturday night. Doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm. Tickets $20.

This week’s free summer movie from Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District is Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 at Kramer field. Movie starts at dusk when it gets dark enough to see the screen. Free to all ages.

And its the Perseid meteor shower this weekend. This year’s show is expected to be especially stunning, in part, because the moon will be a thin crescent and will set early, leaving a dark night sky for stargazing, with as many as 60 to 70 meteors per hour. No telescopes or binoculars needed. Just your eyes and a dark place to look up.



Nearly 100 competitors will pay their $50 entry fee and do their best to burn up the quarter mile at the Columbia Gorge Regional Airport in Dallesport Sunday for the 13th Dallesport Drags. Spectator admission is $10 a carload. Races start at 8 am and will run until approximately 4 pm

DUFUR CLASSIC CAR SHOW 9 am to 3 pm at Dufur Park. Admission is free and breakfast is available.
