Neighbor files appeal with LUBA on city smaller lot division

On July 9, The Dalles City Council heard an appeal from several neighbors objecting to a decision by The Dalles Planning Commission to allow developer Jonathan Blum to reduce the minimum lot size for a parcel located at West 13th and Perkins from 9,000 square feet to 7,745 square feet, with the intent of placing a duplex on the property. The council, by a 3 to 2 vote denied the appeal and approved the Planning Commission decision to allow the smaller parcel.

Now one of those who objected had filed a Notice of Appeal to the state Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA). That effectively halts any building on the lot in question until the appeal is decided. A hearing date has yet to be set. A copy of the Notice of Appeal appears below:
