KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — A woman who fled child molestation charges in Oregon 18 years ago has been arrested in Mississippi and will be extradited to Klamath County for prosecution.
The FBI said Thursday that Victoria Cravitz brought her common-law husband, Leon Henry Shaw, to a hospital in Chatham, Mississippi and he died there of natural causes.
Hospital officials notified the FBI when they had problems verifying his identity for a death certificate.
Cravitz had been using the name Jennifer Larsen but was identified as a fugitive wanted in Oregon and arrested.
Cravitz and Shaw were wanted on charges of molesting several children between 1989 and 1999 in Klamath Falls.
Then-District Attorney Ed Caleb said at the time that there were at least two victims under the age of 12.
