Two hurt when dump truck crashes into store

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say two people were injured when a dump truck crashed into a general store southeast of Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports firefighters were called to the Alderton General Store around 11 a.m. Wednesday after the crash.

East Pierce Fire & Rescue says a technical rescue of the truck driver was performed before he was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

East Pierce Fire Chief Bud Backer says the store’s clerk suffered head injuries because of the crash and was taken to a Tacoma hospital.
