Idaho man pleads guilty to murder, robbery in 2016 killing

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — An Idaho man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and robbery in a 2016 killing sparked by road rage.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Justin Booth entered his plea on Monday for the killing of William Kirk. Charges of arson, kidnapping and unlawful possession of a firearm were dropped as part of his plea deal.

The other defendant in the case, David Hutto, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison last year.

Kirk had been driving home from work in October 2016 when he flashed his high beams at the vehicle in front of him occupied by Booth and Hutto.

Prosecutors say Booth and Hutto followed Kirk to his house, kidnapped him, stole his truck and then shot him to death on the side of a road.
