MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Assault charges against two men have been upped to murder after a robbery victim died from a gunshot wound to the head.
The Daily Herald reports that the charges against 33-year-old Jeremy Dailey and 28-year-old Jared Evans were enhanced Tuesday.
Police say 30-year-old Tye Burley spent two days in a hospital before being taken off life support Thursday.
Police say Burley had won about $7,000 gambling at the Quil Ceda Creek Casino and showed his cash to Dailey, who was staying with him at a Marysville motel.
Two robbers in bandanas later confronted Burley outside the motel. Police say they beat Burley and shot him in the head.
Dailey and Evans were arrested last week. Police say they acknowledged to officers that they plotted to rob Burley.
