Did FBI miss a warning before Florida high school shooting?

The massacre at a Florida high school is again raising questions about whether the FBI missed a warning that might have headed off a mass killing.

This time, the bureau was unable to track down the person who last fall posted a YouTube comment saying “I’m going to be a professional school shooter.”

The person posted as “Nikolas Cruz,” the same name as the 19-year-old man who authorities say killed 17 people at his former high school on Wednesday.

The FBI said agents interviewed the man who reported it and searched public records databases, but couldn’t identify the commenter.

Attackers in the Orlando nightclub shooting, a bombing in New York City and a shooting at a Florida airport were once on the FBI’s radar but later determined not to warrant continued scrutiny.
