YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 25-year-old Yakima man accused of providing false information about a drive-by shooting.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports Scott Lopez was also being held on outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says the drive-by shooting happened Saturday morning in Soap Lake.
Later, an officer stopped a vehicle and noticed bullet holes in the side of it. When the officer asked about holes, the occupants did not cooperate.
Deputies say security footage shows the vehicle had been in the area of the shooting shortly before the first calls came in. They say bullet fragments were found in the vehicle.
