Weekend events Dec 8 – 11

FRIDAY

The Dalles Worship Choir, an ecumenical choir, comprised of members from at least eight different local churches, will sing “It Took a Miracle,” in two appearances this weekend: tonight at 7 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in The Dalles and Sunday at 5:30 at The Dalles First Christian Church.

SATURDAY

The Holiday “All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes” Saturday Breakfast” 8 to 9:30 am at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W 9th Street, The Dalles. The menu includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Fruit and Beverage all for $6 per person or $3 for children 12 and under.

Goldendale Farmers’ Market Christmas Bazaar 9 am to 3 pm at 820 S. Schuster Ave, Goldendale featuring jams, jellies and baked goods; locally-grown honey, beef, lamb and eggs; lavender oils and herbs; copper, wood, fabric and leather crafts; handmade jewelry, soaps and lotions; small home furnishings; plants and fresh wreaths.

Dufur Valley Porcelain Artists hometown Christmas Bazaar, a perfect time to finish your Christmas shopping and find many different, one-of-a-kind treasures. Includes the Altar Society’s famous bake sale. 9 am to 3 pm at St. Alphonsus Hall, corner of First and Church streets in Dufur.

Also part of the Dufur Hometown Christmas is the Community Art Show and Sale to benefit The Dufur Community Center from 11 am to 4 pm at the Community Center Northeast Second and Aiken streets. Artist’s reception and sales of exhibited items from 2:30 to 4 pm Musical performances begin at 2 pm with students in the Dufur After-School Arts Program and adult students at Gorge Community Music, followed by the Dufur Boys and other surprises.

The Dalles Eagles Christmas Bazaar with new and handmade gifts, holiday and specialty baked goods. 9 am to 3 pm Saturday at the Eagles Lodge, 2006 West Seventh Street, open to the public

Wahtonka Community School Holiday Bazaar 10 am to 4 plm featuring pictures and visit with Santa, as well as Mrs. Claus, Rudolph & the Elf from 11 am to 3 pm at 3601 West 10th Street

The Last Chance Holiday Bazaar is a favorite event of procrastinating holiday shoppers with more than 40 booths offering selections from crafters, jewelry makers, bakers, soft good makers, soap makers, photographers, and other creative people. Special Olympics will be there selling baked goods as well. 10 am to 4 pm both Saturday and Sunday at the Hood River County Fairgrounds 3020 Wy’East Road in the Hood River Valley near Odell.

Candy Cane Lane Christmas Parade. The parade kicks off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9th, followed by pictures with Santa, Soup, and Hot Chocolate at the Masonic Lodge. If you can’t make it to the parade, you can hear the live broadcast on Gorge Country Media’s AM 1400 KLCK.

Eat, drink and be giving as Home at Last presents the Fur Ball silent auction and paddle raise fundraiser Saturday at The Dalles Country Club. Cocktails at 6, dinner at 7 pm with music by Rob Neuberger. Tickets $50 each or $450 for a table of eight, available at Klindts Booksellers or at The Dalles Country Club.

The 9th Annual Hood River SantaCon starts at 6 pm at the Hood River Elks Club. Wear your best Santa Claus costume and join others in the no-host pub crawl through downtown Hood River.

SUNDAY

Fire trucks and command trucks from Goldendale Fire and Rural 7 Fire along with the Goldendale Jr Community Chamber. Trucks will be driving through out the streets of Goldendale City Limits Sunday starting at 1 pm collecting canned food and nonparishable food items for the Goldendale Food Bank. Either have bags/boxes of food set out for curbside pickup or bring it out when you hear or see the fire sirens. Additional monetary donations are being collected at Riverview Community Bank in Goldendale.

MONDAY

The annual Trail Band Christmas at The Dalles Civic Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30 for no-host beverages and complimentary Hors d’Oeuvres. Concert starts at 7 pm featuring some of the most talented musicians in the Northwest. Tickets $25 at Klindt’s Booksellers and at the door
