In one of three action items on tonight’s agenda for The Dalles City Council, councilors will consider a rate increase for The Dalles Disposal, which operates the garbage service in the city. The proposed increase of 2.11 percent would take place January 1, and would raise the weekly price of a 20-gallon can pickup by 26 cents per week, from $11.63 to $11.89 and 37 cents per week for a 32 gallon can, with the price rising from $16.80 to $17.17. Yard debris pickup on a weekly basis would go up 20 cents per week from $8.06 to $8.26, and pickup on an every other week basis would go up 13 cents per week from 45.54 to $5.67.
