On November 9t h at 12:04pm the Morrow County Communications Center received 911 call advising of a multi-vehicle accident on 1-84 EB near MP 157 with several injuries and entrapment. At least one Semi tractor trailer, one pickup truck and one car (possibly more). Fire was reported under one vehicle with entrapped patient, which was put out with a fire extinguisher.
Morrow County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) executed a rolling slow down to stop, started at MP 152 EB 1-84, Three Mile Canyon exit. ODOT has closed down the EB lanes of 1-84 at MP 147, the Highway 74 exit. Eventually, one Westbound lane will be opened to Eastbound traffic as the regular Eastbound lanes will be closed for a while.
A Life Flight helicopter was dispatched to the scene and landed at 12:50pm.
One person was transported by Life Flight. Several others were transported by ground ambulances.
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) was advised of fuel and vehicle fluids spilled on the roadway, they will be responding with a sand truck.
Over ten law enforcement vehicles are on scene, including MCSO, Boardman PD and Oregon State Police (OSP). Boardman Ambulance, Irrigon Ambulance, Arlington Ambulance, Hermiston Medics and Boardman Fire all responded to the scene.
MCSO and Boardman PD arrived on scene to assist until OSP could get there. Oregon State Police is the primary on this incident.
