Wasco County Economic Development Commission opening

The Wasco County Economic Development Commission is accepting applications for an open position on the Commission. Position 7 generally represents the agricultural industry. Applicants from anywhere in Wasco County will be accepted, with priority consideration placed on applicants representing the agricultural community with a focus on dryland crops and/or cattle. The Commission consists of eleven members representing geographic and economic interests throughout the County.

Since its formation in 1987, the Wasco County Economic Development Commission has been coming together with partners to support strong communities and economies throughout the county.  Today, the Economic Development Commission acts as the economic development arm of Wasco County, with a focus on job creation and increasing local capacity. To accomplish this, the Commission provides leadership on countywide economic development issues, gathers information on opportunities and needs throughout the County; and collaborates with local entities to accomplish priority projects. Staff support for the Commission is provided by Mid-Columbia Economic Development District.

In order to apply, candidates are asked to submit an interest form by 5 p.m.

All interest forms will be reviewed and provided to the Wasco County Economic Development Commission for their review and recommendation.
