FRIDAY

The seventh annual Columbia Gorge Fiber Arts Festival starts today and runs through Sunday at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center at Columbia Gorge Community College. The festival offers world class fiber arts education and a small but exclusive vendor marketplace. Festival registration opens at 8 am each day and workshops begin at 9 am.

SATURDAY

Fall Bazaar at Oregon Veterans Home Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. Open to the public with free admission.

The Dalles Community Wellness Walk. Meet at Columbia Cinemas 9 am Saturday. The event involves citizens taking action in their community’s natural & urban areas by picking up trash, educating others on community well-being and bringing people together to get outside and make a difference!

The Goldendale Chapter of the Kiwanis is hosting a free pumpkin carving contest at the Goldendale Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Kiwanis will be providing free pumpkins on a first come basis and healthy snacks will be available. Snacks will be used to make fun Halloween food art with apples and pretzels. If you come late you may consider bringing your own pumpkin. The event is best for ages six to 12 with parental supervision. There will be fun Halloween art projects and more. Kiwanis is also suggesting a cannned food donation to help the Goldendale Food Bank if you are able.

Dwinell Country Ales in Goldnedale presents a bit of family-friendly Halloween fun. Instead of food pairings, Dwinell will have candy pairings to go along with each of their beers, and 7 Lleguas will be parked outside with tacos. Their costumes will be inspired by Zombies, Day of the Dead, Cowboys, and Disco…or as they like to think of it, Disco de Los Muertos. If you wear a costume when you come in, you’ll get $1 off your first beer.

Touch of Class Dance Studio is having their free Haunted Open House at 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be entertainment by Touch Of Class dancers and gymnasts. The Haunted Open House will also have face painting, a costume contest, and a spooky dance contest.

Twisted Throttle Family Fun Center will be having a big Halloween party Saturday in their parking lot with food, games, and music from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be a large Fear Factor Game and a big-screen virtual reality game. Admission is $2 and children two and under are free.

The Dalles Eagles Lodge presents: Dirty Voltage – A tribute to AC/DC with Special Guests: Boomstick aka Pink Lemonade. $100 Cash Prize for Best Costume. $5 cover charge for this 21 and over event.
