BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (AP) — Police in the city of Battle Ground want to track down the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a 14 year-old boy injured.
The Columbian reports that the boy was struck from behind near Southeast Eaton Boulevard Thursday and suffered a broken ankle and dislocated elbow.
Officers were called at about 7:20 a.m. by a driver who said the boy flagged him down.
The boy told officers he had missed the school bus and was walking to school when a vehicle struck him from behind. The impact threw him into the air.
The boy said he managed to keep walking and sought help from a passing motorist.
Police are seeking potential witnesses. They say the vehicle will likely have damage to the front right fender and mirror.
