Oregon woman given life sentence after guilty plea to murder

TIGARD, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon woman pleaded guilty to a murder charge and was sentenced to life in prison for the 2015 killing of her estranged husband.

KPTV-TV reports that 23-year-old Mariah Lynn Molina was sentenced Friday for the death of 26-year-old Luis Aguilar-Estrada who was found shot in the head his Tigard apartment. She will be eligible for parole after serving 25 years.

Police said Molina was in a dispute with the victim over the custody of their children. Molina and two others were arrested last year after an investigation led authorities to believe that she enlisted her boyfriend and another male friend to kill Aguilar-Estrada.

All three were indicted and one pleaded guilty to a murder charge in May. The second man has a trial scheduled for later this month.
