UPDATE: Police catch fugitive with Wasco County ties

UPDATE: ANDREW JOSEPH PULVER, age 29, was arrested by Portland police March 29, 2013 at approximately 12:15 a.m. and lodged at the Multnomah County Justice Center. PULVER was sought after being identified as the operator of a stolen motorcycle involved in a crash March 27, 2013 in which he was reportedly operating recklessly southbound on Interstate 205 and crashed into the back of a stopped vehicle at the bottom of the Johnson Creek Boulevard off ramp. PULVER, who was injured, fled on foot from the crash scene. Arriving officers searched the area for several hours but didn’t find him.



Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public’s help to find a suspect injured Wednesday afternoon when he crashed a stolen motorcycle into the back of a stopped sport utility vehicle at the end of the Interstate 205 southbound off ramp at Johnson Creek Boulevard. After being ejected from the motorcycle into the vehicle’s rear window, the injured suspect fled on foot from the scene toward SE 82nd Avenue and wasn’t found following a several hour search by OSP and Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect has been identified and may seek medical care at an area hospital for facial and other injuries.

OSP identified the suspect as ANDREW JOSEPH PULVER, age 29. PULVER is described as a white male, 5’7″, 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has ties in Clackamas, Multnomah and Wasco County areas. Witnesses said he was bleeding badly and in need of medical attention. Photographs taken last month at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) is provided with this release.

On March 27, 2013 at approximately 2:45 p.m., a stolen motorcycle operated by PULVER was traveling recklessly southbound on Interstate 205 when it exited the freeway at Johnson Creek Boulevard and crashed into the back of a stopped 2007 Mercedes sport utility vehicle. Upon impact, the motorcycle operator was ejected over the front of the motorcycle into the vehicle’s rear window before landing on the pavement.

The man, later identified as PULVER, got off the ground and fled west on foot from the scene toward SE 82nd Avenue. He had obvious injuries and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray colored shirt or sweatshirt. The motorcycle was reported stolen out of The Dalles.

The Mercedes’ operator, JOLENE THOMPSON, age 48, from Clackamas, and the 22-year old female passenger were not injured.
