Mexican Government ID’s to be accepted by Oregon Law Enforcement Officers

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Law officers in Oregon are preparing to accept ID cards issued by the Mexican government to prove people’s identities during traffic stops and other police contacts. The effort was announced in a letter from Democratic Gov. John Kitzhaber that was read to activists at a May Day rally in Salem. It comes four years after Oregon began requiring driver’s license applicants to prove that they’re legally in the country
