Klickitat PUD crews made great progress yesterday, restoring power to 650 customers, leaving approximately 150 customers out of power at this time. And they started work at 4 this morning, including 9 additional PUD and construction crews helping out from other Washington PUDs. The goal is to have all customers back in service by tonight.
The PUD would like all customers still without power to contact the PUD to make sure you are on their current lists. The numbers to use are 509-773-5891 or 1-800-548-8357.
And they ask if you know of someone without power or think someone else is without power, please do not call the PUD directly. The PUD asks you to contact them and ask them to call the PUD, or contact them first to make sure that they are still without power before calling the PUD. They want to make sure they are focusing on areas that are still without powere.
The open Search and Rescue (SAR) mission related to winter storm rescues was concluded yesterday at 3:30.
The emergency operations center closed yesterday at 4 p.m, noting that ice remains on roads at higher elevations and in shaded areas, and they are so far predicting a moderate snow melt which should minimize flood-related issues.
Both the Red Cross shelter in White Salmon and the warming shelter at Jonas Ministries in Trout Lake will be closing today. The Trout Lake shelter will continue with limited availability of showers throughout the weekend. Please contact them at 509-395-2900 for available times.
Klickitat PUD reminds everyone that power lines could be re-energized at any time without notice, so please stay clear of downed power lines and do not try to remove trees or branches that are across power lines. Contact the PUD office at 800-548-8357 if you notice any of these conditions so the PUD line crews can safely take care of the problem.
