Gorge high school weekend basketball roundup

It was a busy week for basketball in the gorge. Let’s check it out.
The Dalles Wahtonka Eagle Indians lost to the St. Helens Lions on the road 58 to 39.

At the Dufur Invitational Tournament, the Dufur Rangers defeated the Spray Eagles Friday night 66 to 25 then lost to the Perrydale Pirates 55 to 41 on Saturday.

The South Wasco County Redsides started the season with a pair of wins at the Paul Humprhreys Tip-Off Tournament in Fossil. Friday afternoon they edged the Dayvile-Monument Tigers by a single point in a 56 to 55 nailbiter, then knocked off the Portland Waldorf Wolf Pack 47 to 37 on Saturday.

At the same tournament, the host Condon-Wheeler Knights split their games, picking up a 66 to 35 win over the Portland Waldorf Wolf Pack Friday night and losing 47 to 36 to the Dayville – Monument Tigers Saturday.

The Sherman Huskies also split a pair at the Sherman County invitational, losing 71 to 57 to the Culver Bulldogs Friday and coming back to defeat the Southwest Christian Wildcats 64 to 57 Saturday.

The Arlington Honkers got off to a 2 and 0 start, edging the McKenzie Eagles on the road 54 to 52 Friday and the Stanfield Tigers JV by a single point in a 42 to 41 win on the road Saturday.

And the Goldendale Timberwolves teams split with the Wahluke Warriors on the road at Mattawa. The boys team lost 53 to 49, while the girls team won 60 to 41.
