Goldendale Middle and Primary schools were both placed on a modified lockdown Thursday morning. Goldendale school superintendent Mark Heid said the move was a precautionary one in reaction to domestic disturbance that had the potential to affect the school. He said they contacted local police authorities and brought in an extra person to watch the doors. Under provisions of a modified lockdown, classes operate as normal, but students are kept indoors and there are no outdoor recesses. Hyde said there were no incidents, and the district was able to lift the modified lockdown by mid-aftenoon.
