Fire destroyed a home on Austin Road in Goldendale Friday, taking everything inside with it to the ground. According to a story from the Goldendale Sentinel, Alexis and Mike Wright, Jessica Quantrell and her four kids were all sleeping when Quantrell smelled smoke in the dining room. Alexis reported that her husband, Mike, tried to put the fire out but it just got bigger. Rural 7 Fire Department Chief Tony Browning said the cause of the fire is still being investigated. The family was able to rescue eight puppies but not the mother. A surrogate mother dog has been found at Dogs of the Gorge. The family has lost everything. Donations can be dropped off at 320 E Main Street, a private residence, in Goldendale. Read the complete story at the Goldendale Sentinel website.
