Bingen-White Salmon Police Chief under investigation

The Everett Herald reports that Bingen-White Salmon Police Chief Tony Domish has been under investigation for events that may have taken place when he was chief at the Granite Falls, Washington police department. The news paper said investigators believe criminal charges may be warranted against Domish and have sent a nine-page affidavit to Snohomish County prosecutors for review. Police detectives from nearby Marysville, Washington conducted the investigation. They suggest evidence could support two felony theft and misappropriation charges, pl plus more than a dozen counts of alleged misdemeanor official misconduct. Past problems handling cash at the Granite Falls Police Department were so serious, the story said, that the city of Granite Falls recently returned roughly $2,000, apparently seized in violation of state law. No charges have been filed, and Domish has denied any wrongdoing. He told the newspaper yesterday that he knew this was happening but said “I just didn’t know it’d go this far.”
